On Saturday evening at the Town and Country Resort San Diego, San Gorgonio Athletic Director Matt Maeda and Santa Ana Valley Athletic Director Jose Sanchez were recognized by the California State Athletic Directors' Association (CSADA) for their achievements and work as ADs.
Jose Sanchez is a first-year AD at Santa Ana Valley and was recognized as the CIF Southern Section Rookie AD of the Year for 2022. Jose has been since 2000 and has been a part of the So. Cal Soccer Coaches' Association for 12 years. He serves as a coordinator for our Association and sits on the CIF Southern Section Soccer Advisory Committee. Congratulations Jose on this fantastic recognition!
Matt Maeda is going on his 19th year as the San Gorgonio AD and was selected as the California State Athletic Director of the Year for 2022! Being recognized as the top AD in California from over 1,100 schools, took "a village" according to Maeda. His acceptance speech was humorous, humble, and grateful for all the people who work alongside him. He gave special thanks to his children and his wife. Matt has worked with the Association for the past 25 years and at one point was the treasurer of the association. He still acts as a coordinator and also sits on the CIFSS Soccer Advisory Committee. Congratulations Matt!
