Girls' D-6 Starting to Take Shape...

Report Those Scores!!!

As the scores begin to roll in, the Girls' D-6 rankings are starting to take shape.  It seems that the best place to find scores is still on MaxPreps; however, you can also find some results at www.cifss.org or Score Book Live.  The nice thing about www.cifss.org is that the scores also indicate each school's division number next to their name which definitely helps in score comparisons.

Being that we are Division 6, we have an extra challenge when comparing teams for ranking purposes.  Yes, the overall records are important but we must also take into consideration strength of schedules/opponents as they too reflect a team's ability to advance in our eventual CIF-SS Playoffs.  So with keeping that in mind, here are a list of teams to have on your radar when thinking about the Weekly Top Ten Polls... and there will be several others that I am sure will pop up as more results get reported.   Team's record vs opponents from D-5 and higher are in parentheses.  Notable recent results are listed too.

  1. Gabrielino             3-0-0        (2-0-0)       beat D4 Monrovia 1-0

  2. Marshall                 4-1-1        (2-1-1)       beat D4 Westridge 4-1, loss D3 La Salle 1-2

  3. Shadow Hills        8-1-1        (3-1-1)       beat D4 Palm Desert 1-0, tied D5 Beaumont 1-1

  4. Rancho Mirage     1-1-3        (0-1-2)       tied D4 Walnut 1-1, loss D4 Diamond Bar 2-3

  5. Desert Mirage       9-2-0        (0-2-0)       loss D5 Cathedral City 0-2

  6. Ontario Christian 3-3-0       (0-3-0)       loss D4 Mayfield 3-4, loss D4 Westminster 1-3

  7. Coachella Valley  7-4-1       (2-2-1)        beat D5 Hawthorne 4-2, loss D6 Nuview Bridge 1-2

  8. El Rancho               6-1-1       (1-1-0)        beat D6 Schurr 2-1

  9. Nogales                   2-2-1       (1-2-1)        loss D2 Brea Olinda 0-1

  10. University Prep    5-1-0       (3-1-0)        beat D5 Summit 1-0, loss D4 Silverado 0-1

  11. Schurr                      4-3-1       (2-2-0)        beat D5 Santa Fe 2-1, loss D6 El Rancho 1-2

  12. Rancho Verde       5-4-2       (2-4-2)        beat D6 Perris 5-1

  13. Citrus Hill               4-1-2        (0-1-1)        tied D3 ML King 0-0, loss D5 Palm Springs 1-2

Most importantly, the weekly polls can only be as accurate as the score reporting so please make sure to REPORT YOUR SCORES and all scores must be end up at the CIF-SS site via CIFSSHome.  Good luck to all in your Christmas tournaments!
